Every order carries a packaging fee of $9.99, certain amounts of products will carry multiple packaging fees. Shipping is calculated on a per item and weight basis. Shipping can range from $15.99 per package and up per package. Shipping can be calculated on our website by adding the products you wish to purchase to our cart and use the shipping estimator tool. We offer a variety of shipping services. Ground Shipping can be between 1 and 5 days depending on your location. Ground shipping is only guaranteed by end of day. We also offer a next day air saver service that is a 1 day shipping method guaranteed by 3:00 to a business, and to your home it is guaranteed by end of day. We also offer a Next Day Air shipping method that is either guaranteed by 10:30 A.M if you are in a non remote area, 12:00 P.M if you are in a moderately remote area and by end of day if you are in a remote area.
We do not offer Monday Deliveries as the shipping companies are closed on Sundays.
Ground Shipments, 2nd Day Air Shipments and 3 Day Select Shipments, and Next Day Air Saver Shipments are guaranteed by end of day. Their is no guaranteed time for this shipment and can arrive any time during that day.
2, 3, 4, and 5 day shipments may arrive earlier then the day that you choose for delivery. This will not hurt the product. If a package arrives early it is the same as sitting at the shipping company's building.
Due to the perishable nature of our product orders can only be canceled 24 hours prior to the day the package is going to ship out. No orders can be returned after they are received.
All packages are shipped shipper release. This means the package is left without a signature. This is the way perishable products must be shipped. The receiver takes full responsibility to receive the package. Blue Crab Trading Company is not liable for any package once tendered to UPS or FedEx. This is includes packages that are stolen once delivered.
BCTC recommends that you do not have packages shipped to gated communities or apartments with locked doors or buildings that have restricted access. BCTC nor UPS or Fed Ex can be held liable for packages that are not delivered due to drivers not being able to gain access to the property to make the delivery. We recommend you have the package sent to your work or and alternate location to ensure proper delivery.
Customers with damaged packages or packages that have not been determined delivered must call within 24 hours.
During colder months products that are shipped fresh may become frozen. This does not affect the quality of the product. No refunds will be done for this occurrence.
BCTC will not refund any money for packages that customers provided an incorrect address during checkout. It is also the customers responsibility to check confirmation emails on orders placed over the phone. No refunds will be issued when customers do not check confirmation orders for accuracy.
Blue Crab meat is always shipped fresh when an overnight shipping method is selected. All other methods of transit will dictate that the product will arrive frozen. We must flash freeze the meat before shipping to guarantee the product will arrive safely. It is the customer's responsibility to contact our customer service team via telephone or email if the confirmation email is not received after an order has been placed.
BCTC is not responsible for packages shipped into snow storms, fog, or any other act of mother nature. It is the customers responsibility to monitor weather and conditions in your area. We will not refund any money for packages delayed by the above circumstances.
Blue Crab Trading Company can not be held liable for packages once they are delivered by the shipping company. The insurance does not cover the package after is delivered. Routinely when packages are delivered the note may say it was left at a specific door. This information may vary and it is the customers responsibility to check any and all areas on the property once the package is delivered. BCTC will not be held liable for any packages that sit for periods of time on a persons property. It is solely the responsibility of the recipient to retrieve the package in a timely manner.
Insurance does not pay for late shipments due to weather or other catastrophic events. During inclement weather, snow, fog, ice, high winds, earthquakes and other natural disasters, packages may be delayed. Shipping delays are normal and to be expected around the holidays and peak shipping times. These delays can add extra days to transit times. We take steps to pack our packages to last for these delays. We use extra dry ice during peak shipping times and this can cause product to freeze but not alter the quality.
Time In Transit
2 day air shipments typically deliver in 2 days sometimes they delivery 1 day early.
3 day air shipments typically deliver in 2 days sometimes they delivery 1-2 days early.
This does not effect the quality of shipment as if it arrives early you can store it at your home instead of sitting at fed ex facility.
If you require a day specific delivery we recommend you choose an overnight shipment.
Shipping and Insurance Policies.
Blue Crab Trading Co. is not responsible for packages once they have been marked as delivered. As these packages must be delivered shipper release the recipient assumes all responsibility for the package once it has been delivered. Insurance does not cover a missing package once it has been delivered.
Packages should be sent to your work or a location where someone is present to received delivery if you are concerned with the package being left.
The recipient is also responsible to notify Blue Crab Trading Co. if their are any events in your area such as, weather, storms, power outages, and other catastrophic events that could delay a package. Homeland Steaks can not monitor this information and is the full responsibility of the recipient to notify BCTC prior to the package shipping.
Insurance will not cover any packages shipped into an area with weather, storms, power outages, and other catastrophic events that could delay a package.
If a package arrives up to 24 hours late the contents will still be good and the insurance will only pay for the shipping price. Insurance does not pay for late shipments due to weather or other catastrophic events.
- There are no Sunday or Monday deliveries.
- Saturday delivery is available in most areas. All Saturday deliveries must be shipped using FED EX Overnight Air service. When requesting Saturday delivery to rural areas, please call in advance to check availability.
- Days that are grayed out on our delivery calendar are not available for selection.
- All orders being shipped to Alaska or Hawaii we suggest you speak to one of our customer service reps to verify transit times.
Shipping and Handling Information
Blue Crab Trading Co.'s primary shipping method on most orders is through UPS Overnight. We reserve the right to ship UPS or Fed EX Overnight. For customers who qualify, we may choose to ship orders via UPS Next Day Ground. All orders are charged actual UPS and FedEx shipping rates. Any changes to tax or shipping and handling charges, if necessary, will be provided in a separate communication along with the reason for the change. Deliveries delayed by carriers due to inclement weather or for any other reason must be accepted by purchaser at next available delivery date. Fresh product maybe frozen upon receipt in areas that are experiencing extreme cold temperatures. Proper thaw out procedures for seafood should always be followed. Please note Blue Crab Trading Co. will not refund monies due to fresh product that has frozen due to extreme cold temperatures. If compensation is warranted it will be in the form of store credit or gift card. If delivered in the above mentioned time Blue Crab Trading will not refund any monies for the order. Dry ice will be used for 2 and 3 day Maryland Blue Crab orders. This will likely cause the crabs to freeze. The crabs can be thawed under refrigeration. If you do not wish for dry iced used in your order, please select an overnight delivery.

*Once a package is marked as delivered and verified by UPS is correct delivery neither UPS or Blue Crab Trading is responsible for the package. Please use caution when shipping to apartments or other buildings that share common areas. Packages that are in transit for more than one day can become frozen or partially frozen due to dry ice and gel packs.
Live Crab Disclaimer:
We do our very best to fill live orders with the liveliest crabs available. Normal mortality rates can be in excess of 15% of the entire order, and up as much as the entire order. When shipping a live seafood product Dead loss is expected and Blue Crab Trading cannot be liable for any amount of crab mortality, not limited to but including circumstances that are out of our control, such as; shipping environment due to extreme weather, rough handling, or delayed delivery by the shipper.If you insist on every crab being edible, we strongly recommend ordering your crabs steamed prior to shipment. However if you insist on live Crabs, please note that we provide no guarantees on the number of Crabs that will arrive to your doorstep alive. Their condition upon arrival is not guaranteed. No one in our industry will guarantee this. Blue Crab Trading Co cannot refund any monies for dead loss in live shipments.
* On all live orders you should use the earliest delivery service possible and steam the crabs immediately upon arrival.
*Blue Crab Trading recommends that customers exercise caution ordering live crabs in extreme cold and warm temperatures, as crabs do not live as well at these temperatures. Additionally in areas where shipping conditions fall below 32 degrees crabs can freeze and cause mortality.
*For all orders taken over the phone BCTC will provide and email confirmation of the order to the customer. It is the CUSTOMER'S sole responsibility to review the order information, such as but not limited to delivery address, zip codes, delivery date, and product information. *By placing order over the phone customer agrees to our Terms and Conditions, this includes all shipping policies. These are available on our website as well as over the phone.
*If you order is not delivered by 5 P.M on the date of delivery please contact us as we can work to still get the package delivered on time. We cannot guarantee refunds on late deliveries that are not brought to our attention the same day as scheduled delivery.
BCTC reserves the right to shipper release any package commercial or residential. This means the package will be left without a signature. This is necessary to ensure a package will not be delivered the next business day. Packages can not be shipper released if the driver can not get to the delivery point. Gated communities or any other restricted access can cause a package not to get delivered. We are not responsible for any packages that can not be delivered for these reasons. Furthermore insurance does not cover a package that can not be delivered for these reasons.
*Free Shipping or shipping included may have restrictions. If ground shipping is not available to your area due to being a remote location or other factor the shipping included is not valid. You can upgrade to a 3 day air shipping for a nominal charge.

Blue Crab Trading Crab Spicing Policy
At Blue Crab Trading we try our best to accomodate crab spicing requests. However to keep up with demands crabs are steamed in very large batches. Crab spicing may vary and may not be exactly the way you order. No spice crabs may have a little spice on them from contact with other crabs. We caution those with an allergy to notify is by phone 48 hours prior to your order shipping. No refunds or reshipments will be given for a contested amount of crab spice.
