How many crabs make a cake?

First, a bit about our Maryland Crab Cakes.  Blue Crab Trading picks the heaviest and freshest Blue Crabs to pack into 1 oz., 3 oz., 4 oz, 5 oz., 6 oz., and 8 oz. cakes.  Our chefs follow the signature Chesapeake Bay recipe with loads of lump crab meat and no filler.  Bay spices, fresh mayonnaise, eggs and minimal crushed crackers keep to the loved ingredients.  Pan-sear, bake or even deep-fry and taste cakes with a golden-brown crust and salty-sweet meat. 1 oz. cakes:  Consider serving as an appetizer with a buttery Chardonnay. 

3 oz. gluten-free cakes use rice powder in place of the crushed cracker.

4 oz. cakes answer our question. An average crab consists of 2 ounces of meat.  Bingo!  2 crabs make a 4 oz. cake!

6 oz. cakes may serve well with a vegetable.  Try Brazilian Tomato Slaw with tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, onions, and parsley tossed in a lime juice/vinegar mix.
